How To Get Rid Of Files On A Kindle

The amazon Kindle is the highest selling e-reader on the market. With access to thousands of books it is easy to download the wrong one. Removing a document file from the kindle is a quick process that can be accomplished from the device itself, audio files on the other hand require the use of a computer. Follow these steps to remove a document while the kindle is in use. 1. If the Kindle has gone to standby it needs to be turned back on. Locate the power switch. It will be below the keyboard on the edge of the device and near the right corner. Slide it to the right and release it. 2. Once the kindle is on check to see if it opened to the home screen. It should be on page one of the document list. If there is a book open press the home button to return to this list. 3. Use the page direction buttons to find the book. Once the title has been spotted use the directional pad to select the document. It will be marked with a black underline. 4. Press the right button on the directional pad to open the options for the file. 5. Make sure it opened the right file by checking the title at the top of the page. At the bottom of the list of option will be the words “Delete this Document.” Press “select/ok” This is the button in the center of the directional pad. 6. When the dialog box appears it will ask if the user would like to delete the file and cautions that it will be permanently deleted. There are two options to choose from “cancel” or “ok” 7. Highlight “ok” and press the center directional key again. The file is now removed. To remove audiobooks or music files use a computer. 1. Use the usb cord that came with the kindle to access it from the computer. On many computers detecting a new device will automatically bring up a dialog box asking what actions the user would like to preform. If this occurs select “open folder” there may be a longer description in the option but basically whatever option opens the folder is the one to choose. 2. If the computer does not have an auto play feature the user will need open the “my computer” location, open the drive marked “Kindle,” and then they will be able to access the files. 3. Once the kindle folder is opened.
